Interior finish bid estimation — AI calculates surface areas for you

Interior finishing bid estimation is multi-trade: partitions, suspended ceilings, taping and painting, floor materials, trim and finishing are each calculated as their own trade, with areas taken off room by room. Window and door openings are subtracted from wall and ceiling areas, and trim is calculated in linear feet. Because the same building can contain dozens of rooms with different requirements, the takeoff must group the spaces — the building's total square footage alone is not enough to price the work.

The drywall finish level (Levels 1–5 per the GA-214 standard) determines the amount of taping and painting and therefore the price. A Level 5 finish (high-end spaces) requires more coats and more careful painting than a Level 3 finish (for example back-of-house or service rooms), and the unit price can differ significantly. In practice, different rooms in the same project are at different finish levels, so the level must be defined per room from the room finish schedule before taping and painting are priced.

Fire and moisture ratings change the material choice and the price. Type X fire-rated drywall and rated wall assemblies cost more than a standard partition, and a sound-attenuation requirement (STC) may require double layers or resilient channel. Wet-area rooms require moisture-resistant board. Acoustic ceilings (high NRC) are clearly more expensive than a standard ceiling. These ratings must be read from the room finish schedule and priced per room.
